European Language Label – Cyrpus, October 2012
www.eurocatering.org has been awarded the pan-European European Language Label of the Labels.
This prestigious award was made during the Multilingualism in Europe Conference in Limassol Cyprus on 27 September 2012 by the European Commissioner for Education, Culture, Multilingualism and Youth, Mrs Androulla Vassilliou and the Vice President of the European Parliament, Mr Miguel Angel Martinez.

European Language Label – Belgium (Wallonia), May 2011
Eurocatering Language Training was awarded its 6th European Language Label (ELL) in Belgium (Wallonia). The official ELL Awards ceremony took place in Brussels on Wednesday 18th May 2011 at the Palais des Académies in Brussels.
The jury unanimously decided to award the 2011 ELL for Higher Education to EuroCatering Language Training for the user-friendliness and online accessibility of a language tool destined to better prepare future trainees in the catering industry. Moreover, the product offers the possibility for extension to other professional areas and languages in addition to the 7 languages already offered.

European Language Label – Spain, 2010
On 20 December 2010 the public upper-secondary school, IES As
Fontiñas, situated in Santiago de Compostela, (Galicia), was
awarded the European Label for Innovation in Learning and
Teaching Languages. They received the second place award for
their participation in the European project "EuroCatering
Language Training."
Asunción Acosta, Montserrat Fernández and Margarita Viz, language teachers at the IES As Fontiñas and project partners of EuroCatering, received the award in Madrid from representatives of the Ministry of Education of Spain (see photo).
The European Language Label is awarded to innovative projects in language learning and the teaching sector within the educational community. The award is granted once a year with a state and public call: after a first selection in the Autonomous Region of Galicia, EuroCatering was put forward to the State selection.

European Language Label - Ireland, 2010
EuroCatering Language Training was awarded its 4th European Language Label (ELL) in Ireland. The ELL Awards ceremony took place on Monday 27th September 2010 at the National University of Ireland in Maynooth Co. Kildare.
In their report the Irish jury highlighted amongst others the following aspects of EuroCatering: "EuroCatering provides an attractive resource to non-academic, vocationally-oriented language learners both for independent study and for classroom based sessions. Users of the new resource have found it user-friendly and relevant to their vocational needs. Added value comes from the wide variety of languages on offer, including lesser-used languages such as Galician".

The CALICO Esperanto "Access to Language Education Award"
On 11 June 2010, EuroCatering Language Training won CALICO's 2010 Esperanto "Access to Language Education" Award. It rewards websites offering exceptional access to language learning resources. EuroCatering Language Training was selected out of nine "very sophisticated, high quality websites" from all over the world.
One aspect the selection committee appreciated was that EuroCatering Language Training provides learning materials and instructional support with respect to seven different languages, planning for more in the future. They applauded the level of collaboration visible on the website's structure and the list of partner institutions from several European countries.
Another significant factor was the focus on meeting the need of a segment of society beyond the usual school circles, reaching a group not usually noticed or served by academics and educationalists. For the selection committee this "exemplified the foundation of the award and its name, offering a living, concrete manifestation of Access to Language Education".
The free website provides employees and trainees in the catering sector with support for improving their language skills in an immediate and stressful work situation. "It is wonderful that you provide that support with a level of high quality and sophisticated pedagogy informed by the latest research in language learning", the CALICO-selection committee concluded.
CALICO stands for "Computer Assisted Language Instruction Consortium". It is a premier global association dedicated to computer-assisted language learning (CALL) and it is based at the University of Texas (VS).

European Language Label - Norway, 2009
On 27 November 2009, Eurocatering Language Training was awarded the European Language Label in Norway as the best language project with Norwegian participation.
The European Language Label was awarded by a representative of the Minister of Education in Norway. EuroCatering was selected for this prize for its focus on professional language training which prepares young people for work placement abroad.

European Language Label - Belgium, 2009
On 25 September 2009, EuroCatering Language Training received its third European award: the European Language Label for innovative language education. The European Label is an award that encourages new initiatives in the field of teaching and learning languages, rewarding new techniques in language teaching, spreading the knowledge of their existence and thereby promoting good practice.
The jury describes the course as user-friendly, highly emancipatory and accessible for a wide target audience, and praises its multi-lingual approach. Innovative for the jury is the fact that the course also focuses on non-verbal communication. According to the jury, EuroCatering Language Training encourages European mobility and concentrates on the students' needs.

European Language Label - Slovenia, 2008
On 28 November 2008, Eurocatering Language Training was awarded the European Language Label in Slovenia, as one of the best language projects with Slovenian participation.

Nomination in European Year of Intercultural Dialogue - Belgium, 2008
In Belgium, the National Agencies of the French and German Community nominated the language course on 4 December 2008 as one of the best Leonardo-projects promoting intercultural dialogue. This happened in the context of the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue 2008.
